2017 Winter Festival Potluck Dinner Recap
Happy New Year 2018! Wishing all the MCCA members, families and friends to be blessed with immense joy and never ending hope!
Thanks everyone for coming and celebrating the Winter Festival with us. We hope you enjoyed the delicious meat dumplings, and especially the famous Winter Melon soup prepared and served by Kim Luu. Over 80 MCCA members and friends attended this year's event, participating in the pre-dinner screening by award-winning filmmaker (and MCCA member) Jalena Keene-Lee. Jalena presented her documentary The Construct: Female Laborers and the Fight for Equality. This short film follows San Thi Da, a 20 year-old construction worker, and Cheery Zahao, a human rights activist, to examine feminism among different socio-economic classes in Yangon, Mynamar.
Last but not least, we would like to specially thank our host College of Marin International Program. Thank you so much for your hospitality and sharing the wonderful facility with us. We could not have done it with you.
